Midtown International School envisions a world where learning has no limit, where access to opportunities transcend economic, social, language, racial, gender, & ideological barriers.

MIS believes in giving back to the world with each action, in forging a future that elevates the inherent value in our Earth and celebrates the humanity in each and every one of us. In our commitment to diversity, equity, and justice, MIS
  • serves families in 53 zip codes across the Atlanta metro area
  • aligns gender and racial diversity with Atlanta's demographics, both in faculty and staff and in the student body
  • has over 35% of families on financial aid
  • lives by our Proclamation on Equity and Justice
The MIS Promise

The Why

What happens in a place where no one waits to learn, where classrooms are kinesthetic problem-solving laboratories, where teachers are equally curious co-learners dedicated to the values of respect, responsibility, justice, and global citizenship?

  • A community rises up to change the way we think about schools and work and their place and duty to our planet.
  • Students challenge imposed standards and artificial ceilings to create opportunities for the future they envision for their world.
  • And...the MIS community wholeheartedly takes on the Living Building Challenge.

A KEEN SENSE OF BELONGING AND COMMUNITY
MIS is an engaged and inclusive community for growing and learning. Students embrace their future place and purpose in the world, fostered by their classrooms, common areas, and the design and interconnectedness of the campus.

AGILITY FOR LIMITLESS LEARNING

Every space is an invitation to discovery, and sparks the imagination, divergent thinking, and creativity of the community. Entrepreneurialism in the students and staff is facilitated by the space rather than constrained by it.

DESIGNING FOR NATURAL SYSTEMS
As stewards of the Earth, our collaborative community  innovates spaces that foster seamless connections between indoors and out. To create a place that promotes human learning for all, design relies on our appreciation and respect of the natural world to generate brain-friendly environments.
